This remodel involved moving a staircase and eliminating a trip hazard landing to open up the flow in the main level, and make it easier for aging in place. We relocated the kitchen from a cramped corner and added an island for quick meals and gathering. We also added a second prep sink, right by the back door which leads into the extensive edible garden outside. A new ventilated range hood and additional insulation keep the air quality high and energy bills low.
The dining room now occupies a cozy nook with an enlarged high performance window looking out into the front yard. Our team enlarged and added new windows in the living room to bring in more natural light. The skilled tradesmen from Grimes Carpentry and Bradley Fine Carpentry built and installed beautiful custom birch plywood cabinetry and built ins throughout the first level of the home, including a coat closet, window bench and reading nook, above the window storage, pantry cabinets, and all of the kitchen cabinetry.
